Description Janek Walkenhorst univentionstaff 2011-03-02 16:34:38 CET
UVMM-Server: UCS 2.4-2 Master
VM-Server: UCS 2.4-2 Member Xen
Client: Linux mammut 2.6.32-ucs16-686-bigmem Firefox 3.6.13

The problems described at Bug 28398 happened again at the last UCS training. This has been very annoying.

It also happened for me at UCS trainings in the past. For that reason I switched to using krdc in UCS trainings (which has it's fair share of problems/bugs as well)

Because of those bugs I always recommend virt-viewer during the UCS trainings, which is sadly only in unmaintained, but works flawlessly so far.

krdc does not support the keyboard keycode extension of QEmu/KVM/Xen.

VNC-Viewers like <https://wiki.gnome.org/gtk-vnc> are recommended, since they use libgtk-vnc which implements the "QEMU Extended Key Event Psuedo-encoding" <http://www.mail-archive.com/tigervnc-rfbproto@lists.sourceforge.net/msg00260.html> extension
Comment 8 Florian Best univentionstaff 2013-11-27 11:01:13 CET
The VNC implementation has been replaced by noVNC in UCS 3.2.
