Univention Bugzilla – Bug 29978
System shutdown hangs if booted from NFS
Last modified: 2013-03-26 09:14:19 CET
Created attachment 4967 [details] screenshot If the default guest user which is created during installation trys to power down an UCC thinclient with the LXDE button designated for it, the system freezes at a certain moment during the shut down process (see screenshot) and can't be pinged anymore.
This might be caused by a general problem which currently occurs when shutting down an UCC system with active NFS mounts. The UCC system deconfigures it's network device but then still attempts to reach the NFS server on the UCC master - in an endless loops as it can't be reached without network connectivity.
This happens only when the client is booting a 'live-system'
To fix it i changed the shutdown order of networking when working with a livesystem. Network now stops after unmounting all filesystems.
I could successfully shutdown the live-booted thin client and desktop images.
UCC 1.0 has been released: http://forum.univention.de/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=2417 http://forum.univention.de/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=2418 If this error occurs again, please use "Clone This Bug".
