Univention Bugzilla – Bug 29994
Possibility to skip network configuration after a while during the boot process
Last modified: 2023-06-28 10:32:55 CEST
When an UCC client fails to receive his IP configuration via DHCP during the boot process he will retry for over a minute. If the system is not even connected to a network (for example a notebook used in the train) it would be nice if the user could skip the network configuration, as he knows that he'll never receive an answer from any DHCP server.
It doesn't took more than one minute (I think there were enhancements in the Erratas) but waiting for DHCP still makes a UCC boot take much longer than with standard (K)ubunut (Ubuntu initializes network devices in the background).
