Description Alexander Kläser univentionstaff 2013-02-06 19:07:47 CET
When the connection to the presenting computer is lost, there is no defined fallback mode and the presentation mode cannot be cancelled. The remaining computers still show the green light.

Is it able to fix this situation by a fresh UMC login?
Comment 2 Alexander Kläser univentionstaff 2013-02-18 11:55:50 CET
Afair, a relogin would not help.

Yes, it does not help but there is another way:

* start a presentation

* the presenting computer crashed
OR
* the presenting computer disconnected from the network

what happens?
* the client computers still displays the last screenshot from the presenting computer
* the presenting computer is displayed as online in the UMC session, but the 'stop presentation' button is not displayed

in case of the presenting computer reconnects to the network:
→ The 'stop' button is displayed again, it is possible to stop the presentation

Otherwise the following approaches:
* close the module and reopen it
* login with a new UMC session
* wait until all timeouts closed the computerroom module
all result in:
→ the presenting computer is now correctly displayed as offline (probably only the grid was only not correctly updated)
→ the client computers still show the screenshot from the offline computer

How it can be solved:
→ client computers now have a option to 'stop presentation', this works.
Alternatively:
→ on the clients computer: CTRL-ALT-DEL → kill presentation

So the problem need be fixed in italc (e.g. stop all clients presentations if the presenter is not pingable for a specific timeout).
I think on UMC side is nothing to do for this?!

If the presentation server(computer) falls out there is a "stop presentation" button for each client in the "more" menu to stop the presentation.
