Univention Bugzilla – Bug 33320
Support UVMM "standalone" on a not joined Memberserver / DC Slave
Last modified: 2023-06-28 10:45:58 CEST
Today it is possible but complicated to run a UCS DC Master as virtual machine on a UCS Memberserver in the same domain, because to define the virtual machine one can not use the UMC UVMM module but must use commandline tools like virsh. The same is true a maintenance or desaster situation where a UCS Memberserver is used for virtualization. For smaller environments, it would be good to have a "local mode" in UVMM on Memberservers where one can administrate local virtual instances even on unjoined servers or if no LDAP can be reached. This could be the default if one is logged into UMC as "root".
*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 21554 ***
(In reply to Philipp Hahn from comment #1) > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 21554 *** mhm, I don't think this is a full duplicate. Bug 21554 adresses only missing "UVMM-Profiles" which are generated during join in LDAP, that's only a part of the needed functionality.
UMC+UVMM module is installable on a Memberserver?!
(In reply to Florian Best from comment #3) > UMC+UVMM module is installable on a Memberserver?! But unusable without a LDAP server or if the Memberserver isn't joined yet.
