Univention Bugzilla – Bug 38582
Remove the '3' in Samba 3 from the Windows-compatible Fileserver description
Last modified: 2015-11-17 12:11:59 CET
I think we should remove the version number '3' from 'Samba 3' in the App description of "Windows-compatible Fileserver". First, afais it's just not true. The debian package versions are 4.x (not 3.x). Second, if we want to distinguish between Samba domaincontroller and Samba file/print server, we should not use 'Samba 4' and 'Samba 3' anymore. This will become even more confusing, when we get Samba 5 some day.
Had to explain this again during a webcast and was quite confusing for some attendees.
Created attachment 7175 [details] Needed diff for samba-memberserver.ini This would be sufficient, imho.
Happened again after Webcast ...
fixed appcenter.test/meta-inf/4.1/samba-memberserver.ini appcenter/meta-inf/4.1/samba-memberserver.ini
I did the QA and found another ini file that has samba 3 in its description: appcenter.test/meta-inf/4.1/opsi/opsi_20150723.ini Should that be changed, too?
