Description Janis Meybohm univentionstaff 2015-07-07 10:43:41 CEST
Has been spotted by two customers:
2013060421001784
2015070221000354

Opening GPMC in Windows 8.1 (latest updates; including rollup 2975719 but I think this has to be installed on the DC to fix things) shows the the following error:

A Processing error occurred collecting data using this base domain controller. Please change the base domain controller and try again.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2979923/en-us

Cause:
This issue occurs because GPMC tries to retrieve the domain controller name by using both the DsGetDcName and DsGetDomainControllerInfo functions. The comparison between the two functions fails with the previously mentioned error message if DsGetDcName returns a name that contains lowercase letters.

Both reports are for UCS 3.2, I've not checked if this still occurs with UCS 4.

Changes and improvements for SDB entries aren't tracked in Bugzilla anymore, so I close these entries. Please comment on help.univention.com or get in touch with the Univention Support team in case you have any suggestions for the SDB.
