Univention Bugzilla – Bug 40292
Self Service 'Invite User'
Last modified: 2020-07-03 20:54:26 CEST
This module were several times requested by potential customers. It is related to delegated administration for large companies. Goal of this Self Service module is that employees get informed about the setup of their user account. One work flow could be: 1. Administrator setup user account (At least with login and contact details). 2a. A E-Mail or SMS will be send to the user automatically. 2b. Or a "button" will be provided for the Administrator to send the message to the new user. 3. The user get a link and OTP-Token in the message to login and set the initial password for his-or-her self.

This boils down to adding a button to the user-page "create-random-password-and-send-token". For additional comfort, a contact field and the create-random-password-and-send-token button could be added to the Add-a-new-user wizard, allowing for quickly adding multiple new users.
