The chapter 3.8.2. "Adding a new external service provider" describes how to register the UCS IdP to the foreign service provider.
The second paragraph elaborate the XML metadata but doesn't mention anything about the SAML SSO Service Link (SingleSignOnService) or the Logout Service Link (SingleLogoutService).
Advanced user probably know that the metadata file contain both links but I think no one else will find them.
And at least for the configuration of following services both links are necessary:
- Google Apps for Work
- Office 365
- Slack
- Mediawiki 
- Including all SAML SPs which use the "simplesamlphp SP" (Dokuwiki, moodle, owncloud)

This bug hasn't seen any update for several years. I close it.

If you still see a need for it, you can reopen the bug. Please add an argumentation about why it's important to take care of it.
