Univention Bugzilla – Bug 42677
What can I do, if the root partition runs out of space
Last modified: 2020-07-02 17:20:19 CEST
It would be nice to have an article, which describes userful steps to get back a fully functional UCS. This would help the customer and the supporter, checking the system step by step
Can you please add some suggestions what this article should contain? E.g. which files/directories can be safely removed? * apt cache * /var/cache/...? * Old log entries in /var/log/{,univention} A nice tool is "du" or "ncdu" to get an overview of which files/directories have which size.
(In reply to Florian Best from comment #1) > Can you please add some suggestions what this article should contain? First of all one should check which files could be removed. After that, all critical services like OpenLDAP, Samba, Listener / Notifier, DNS, DHCP have to be checked and "fixed". Afterwards, we should link to our Nagios documentation and recommend the use of a monitoring tool.
we have already some infos on our support_debugging page in the internal wiki
I already added this article, https://help.univention.com/t/enlarge-file-system/6388 but we need a list of checks, e.g. - asure the transaction file is not corrupt - a user can be added again
Changes and improvements for SDB entries aren't tracked in Bugzilla anymore, so I close these entries. Please comment on help.univention.com or get in touch with the Univention Support team in case you have any suggestions for the SDB.
