For our technical training in Munich we tried to install UCS 4.2 on the given hardware. The installer started fine, but it fails to detect the hard drives. So in the "Partition disks" step, there are no hard drives available (except the USB pen drive I used as installation media).
Unfortunately I didn't have the time to debug this any further.

This is the hardware specification of the used system provided by the training center:

Dell Precision WorkStation T3500
- Intel Xeon W3530 with Intel X58 (Tylersburg)
- 18 GB RAM
- ATI Radeon HD 4550
- RAID 0

I guess the problem is the integrated/onboard SATA-Hostcontroller which is used for the RAID 0.

Here is the spec sheet of the T3500, but afaik there is no information on which SATA controller is actually used:

This issue has been filed against UCS 4.2.

UCS 4.2 is out of maintenance and many UCS components have changed in later releases. Thus, this issue is now being closed.

If this issue still occurs in newer UCS versions, please use "Clone this bug" or reopen it and update the UCS version. In this case please provide detailed information on how this issue is affecting you.
