Description Nico Gulden univentionstaff 2017-11-16 14:40:16 CET
Most apps in the App Center come with a web interface. Docker based apps usually use a reverse proxy setting configured by the App Center during the installation. The reverse proxy configures e.g. that the sub URL /owncloud/ is forwarded to the appropriate container.

We got external partner feedback where the partner wanted to configure a different sub URL for the app used for security reasons. The UCS system is reachable from the Internet and the partner wanted to obfuscate the services available via his web server.

We should provide a supported way to change to enable system administrators to change the sub URL for apps. We could either document a supported way or we could add a feature to the App Center to make this setting configurable, also across upgrades.

This has to be supported by the App (and we need an interface for that). We cannot simply change /owncloud/ to /myowncloud/ on our side (Apache proxy) without letting the App know. The App has to change its "ROOT_URL", too.
