The user import configurations have nested dicts for example for "scheme".

I think it should be (better) documented that the configurations are updated recursively. Meaning that config keys can not be removed only added or modified.

The standard python dict update does not work recursively.

This bug hasn't seen any update for several years. I close it.

If you still see a need for it, you can reopen the bug. Please add an argumentation about why it's important to take care of it.
