office365: make userPrincipalName configurable via UCR
Last modified: 2023-02-14 09:44:51 CET
The userPrincipalName should be configurable via UCR. By default the Azure-Login is created by the local_part_of_email_address and the verified_domain from the configuration wizard, which is not always the use case. For example, if for the Azure-Logins are build by students@sub.domain and teachers@domain, the mailPrimaryAddress have to be used for the userPrincipalName.
One of those limitations that eventually lead to opting to use the O365 connector app in a use case this year. Attempting to tell users that their Azure login name is different than their e-Mail (but looks like an e-Mail address) is bound to be a lost cause in my previous experience. Please consider this bug report as actually impeding the adoption of O365 in some environments where not all users have a mail address on the same (sub-)domain. -- Mathieu
There is a pull request available by Mathieu at: https://github.com/univention/univention-corporate-server/pull/13
Hmm, the pull request is a change in the univention-ad-connector. But shouldn't it be in the office356 app? https://github.com/univention/office365
Sorry ... I had another tab with that bug open and pasted the wrong URL in the Github MR, I actually wanted reference bug 49954. I've recified the link on the MR, sorry for the confusion.
Was asked again by customer.
