Univention Bugzilla – Bug 48263
UCS Base VM for Virtualisation
Last modified: 2023-06-28 10:51:39 CEST
Comment #0 made private due to customer name Clean request: --------- It would make our work easier if there was a finished image for new UCS VMs, which you only have to embed in UVMM, select the role, make network settings and do the join. A script could then make specific adjustments (e.g. installation of auditd). Currently we help ourselves with a selfmade image (memberserver only) to avoid having to install UCS from scratch for every VM. [...] It would be nice if such an image would be included by default with every UCS release and would flow through your QA. ---------- NEEDMOREINFO: There already is such a thing - we release KVM UCS Appliance Images for every UCS patchlevel release. Why can those not be used?
This issue has been filed against the UCS version "unstable" which does not really exist. Please change the version value.
Sorry, there seems to be some misunderstanding. We are not looking for a UCS as KVM image to have a preinstalled UCS. The question is to have a UCS version just made for KVM hosts to act as hypervisor. Due to couple of issues with resource management we should minimize the software running on this version. i.e. no need for Apache to run.
I close this Bugzilla entry as they are filed without a valid UCS version and haven't been changed for more than a year. In case the bug or feature request is still valid please re-open with the valid UCS version and an updated description.
