Univention Bugzilla – Bug 49350
Overview of to-be-installed Packages on the next run of policy based updates
Last modified: 2019-11-25 07:38:53 CET
When using policy-based updates you configure a schedule. If would be nice if the UMC would be able to display which package version and/or packages will be installed or updated at the next scheduled run of the update.
Created attachment 10055 [details] UMC Screenshot: package upgrade info I'm unsure what new feature is requested here: In general, Errata updates are documented. One can check the current Errata level of a system and compare it with the documentation to see which packages are going to be upgraded (in case they are installed on the system). Also one can open the UMC, check for package updates and will be informed which packages are going to be upgraded or installed (see Screenshot). You can do this with more details on the command line with something like "apt update && apt dist-upgrade -s". Both tools will display the packages that will be updated "now". If the next run of the scheduled update job is in the future, the tools can't predict what changes will be done on the system or on the repository, so a reliable prediction is impossible. Please describe the use case and / or the problem you want to solve.
