Univention Bugzilla – Bug 24952
Weitergehende L/N-Dokumentation integrieren

Created attachment 3908 [details] Zu integrierende Dokumentation
The chapter 3.5 (Listener/notifier domain replication) were completely revamped. The QA should cover the complete section.
Some comments: 1. "On the master domain controller the Univention Directory Notifier service monitors changes in the LDAP directory and makes the selected changes available to the Univention Directory Listener services on the other UCS systems" → the notifier is also started on the backup 2. → It is difficult to understand which data are replicated. In this case no user data are replicated. If you know what the /etc/exports is, it might be easier. Could you change it to an example without data, e.g. the creation of a printer. 3. " zum Univention Directory Notifier-Dienst" → see above, we have more than one notifier 4. " → maybe this can be merged with 2? 5. "Erkennung von Replikationsproblemen" → To check the state, the nagios plugin can be used: /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_univention_replication 6. "Neuinitialiisierung von Listener-Modulen" Maybe it is to specific but the status file is written for the first time after the listener was stopped.

In addition a reference to the developer's reference is provided (if people want to write their own listener modules). > 3. "Erkennung von Replikationsproblemen" > → To check the state, the nagios plugin can be used: > /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_univention_replication A reference to the name of the Nagios service is provided. I think that's better because that's what the administrator is seeing in the UMC. > 6. "Neuinitialiisierung von Listener-Modulen" > Maybe it is to specific but the status file is written for the first time > after the listener was stopped. I think that's an internal detail.
