Description Stefan Gohmann univentionstaff 2013-01-09 11:55:28 CET
At the moment the UCC image update doesn't care about /boot.

/boot exists as separate partition but the image update will only copy the new image. Depending on the partition profile setting the update process should copy the files, see partitionX_copy_files in the cfg file.

The information from which partitions the files should be copied is now saved on the / device of the UCC client. On a booted UCC system the file can be found here:
  /ucc_root/copy_files

This file is checked during the image update. In addition update-grub is called to ensure the new kernel will be used.

I built an image which was based on Precise without the precise-updates and precise-security suites and installed it on the client. This led to kernel 3.2.0-23-generic being installed. The I upgraded to the standard thin client image. After the update, the system was running 3.2.0-37-generic.
