This needs also to be documented.

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #30337 +++

The UCS@school 3.1 Quickstart states that a single master system can be
extended to a master for a multi server scenario. A product test for this case
is currently missing.

Please determine what kind of steps have to be done to convert a single server environment to a multiserver environment.
Comment 2 Florian Best univentionstaff 2013-05-17 09:52:33 CEST
The required steps are:

apt-get install ucs-school-master
apt-get remove ucs-school-singlemaster
ucr set ucsschool/singlemaster=false
Currently the packages ucs-school-master and ucs-school-singlemaster does not conflict with each other.

If you want to keep the UMC module funtionalities on the master you need to:
apt-get unmarkauto $school_umc_packages_you_want_to_keep

apt-get autoremove
invoke-rc.d univention-management-console-server restart / reboot

If you want to join a slave you have to make sure the UCS@School version is the same.
