Description Arvid Requate univentionstaff 2013-06-04 16:14:37 CEST
There is a strange behaviour of file renaming on the "Marktplatz" share hosted by a Samba4 DC:

If a pupil tries to rename a file of a teacher (or vice versa, probably of any other user..), he receives an error message:

Windows XP: "lehrer1.txt kann nicht umbenannt werden: Die angegebene Datei wurde nicht gefunden. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Pfad- und Dateinamenangabe richtig
ist."

Windows 7: Something like "a network error has occured"

If the pupil then hits F5, the file is shown as renamed.

Discovered on access to a UCS@school 3.1R2 Samba4 Slave PDC.
File renaming works on the Class-share.

In contrast this kind of file renaming works und a Samba3-hosted share also on the "Marktplatz" without error message.

Note: The "Marktplatz" is setup a bit differently than the class shares: The pupil is allowed to open a file of the teacher but he is not allowed to save any modification to it. On class shares he is allowd to modify any file.
