Description Nico Gulden univentionstaff 2013-09-20 10:48:49 CEST
Since end of August we offer the new amd64 DVD ISO image for download in two variants:
* UCS_3.1-1-UEFI-amd64.iso
* UCS_3.1-1-amd64.iso

A partner gave feedback at an event that he didn't know what file to choose.

A short note on the differences of the ISO files should be added to the manual in the installation section. It should also state when to use which image and how a customer or a partner can distinguish which one to use for his server.

The UCS quickstart guide contains a note in the german version. I added it to the english version, as well. However, the note speaks of "can". I think it should state "should" or "must" in both language versions. For the mentioned partner only the UEFI DVD worked on his Fujitsu server.

The quick start for 3.1 was changed to point out that the UEFI DVD must be used on systems not supporting a non-UEFI boot.

In addition Chapter 2.1 (Installation - Introduction) now explains that amd64/i386 are available and that a UEFI DVD is available for amd64.
