Description Moritz Muehlenhoff univentionstaff 2013-10-21 10:46:37 CEST
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #32882 +++

While working on Bug #21556 and #18708 improvements will be made to the umc-share module's layout and texts, based on internal discussions.
Comment 1 Moritz Muehlenhoff univentionstaff 2013-10-22 10:03:42 CEST
The shares chapter was updated to the new layout, but some changes were suggested in Bug 32882, so I'll leave this bug open.
Comment 2 Moritz Muehlenhoff univentionstaff 2013-11-07 14:33:08 CET
All the remaining changes from Bug 32882 are now integrated into the manual.

The QA should cover the whole section 11.2 (Management of shares in the UMC)
Comment 3 Erik Damrose univentionstaff 2013-11-11 14:34:42 CET
The following points should be fixed:

- The first figure in <section id="shares::management"> shows the old module. The screenshot should be updated to reflect the changes made. (Wrong description texts, setgid/sticky bit missing)
-> i mentioned it at Bug 32465

- The share server can be edited after creation of the share. I filed Bug 33245 as there are some bugs while changing the server. Maybe the manual should mention this. In addition, in the english version the sentence "This setting cannot be subsequently edited." is present twice in the description of 'Host'

- The second paragraph in the "root squashing" description is prefaced with 'Caution' in the english but not in the german version

- nfs synchronisation: If there is no secret meaning to the word 'imparts' that i am not aware of it should be changed to 'involves'.

- Zugriff nur für diese Rechner, IP-Adressen oder Netze erlauben
: In the german version change 'liesse' to 'ließe'

- Samba-Name: The english version mentions allowed characters for the name, the german version does not

- Valid users or groups: change 'accesses' to 'access'

Fixed through 32465

The manual already documents the indended state ("don't modify"), so I think we're good here.

Fixed.

I've removed caution in English, it's quite a cornercase.

impart is correct, but I've changed it to "involve", which is more universally grasped.

> - Zugriff nur für diese Rechner, IP-Adressen oder Netze erlauben
> : In the german version change 'liesse' to 'ließe'

Fixed.

> - Samba-Name: The english version mentions allowed characters for the name,

Fixed.

Fixed.
