Univention Bugzilla – Bug 33857
Unable to set default printer in UCC KDE session
Last modified: 2023-06-28 10:33:39 CEST
Reported at Ticket #2014010221001026: It is not possible to set a default printer within a kde session. When using "apply" in the printer configuration after setting a default printer you'll receive a "system crash". Using the commandline reveals the traceback: " Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/kde4/apps/system-config-printer-kde/system-config-printer-kde.py", line 120, in save self.gui.on_btnPrinterPropertiesApply_clicked() File "/usr/share/kde4/apps/system-config-printer-kde/system-config-printer-kde.py", line 1923, in on_btnPrinterPropertiesApply_clicked err = self.printer_properties_response() File "/usr/share/kde4/apps/system-config-printer-kde/system-config-printer-kde.py", line 473, in printer_properties_response return self.save_printer(self.printer) File "/usr/share/kde4/apps/system-config-printer-kde/system-config-printer-kde.py", line 925, in save_printer show_IPP_Error(e, s, parent) NameError: global name 'show_IPP_Error' is not defined " I already found this launchpad bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdeadmin/+bug/978404
The whole dialogue is affected. It seems that the printer config module is broken. You get serveral different python tracebacks within the system crash dialogue when using the printer configuration.
Customer Feedback (2014010221001026) for UCC 2.0: You can configure multiple printers now, but setting a default printer for a specific user is still not possible.
UCC is EoL
