Currently "ttf-mscorefonts-installer" is located in "multiverse" and therefore not available (multiverse isn't enabled as a source per default).

You need the original microsoft fonts sometimes when viewing microsoft word documents, exported as pdf, with adobe reader. Otherwise you'll only see rectangles instead of characters. The liberation packages are not sufficient.

The package only provides a download script, so during integration issues like proxy access etc need to be taken into account.
