Description Erik Damrose univentionstaff 2014-04-02 13:11:40 CEST
The current lightdm version contains a bug concerning the greeters poweroff/reboot buttons. They are not visible if systemd's logind is running. Lightdm then only creates a logind connection, but no ConsoleKit connection. With that, the internal functions to determine if the user may reboot the system fail silently, leaving the shutdown dialog empty.

The bug is fixed in Debian but not upstream. For UCC 2 the Debian patch will be applied and lightdm rebuild in our environment.
Comment 1 Erik Damrose univentionstaff 2014-04-03 11:48:30 CEST
The initial bug reason is not correct. The problem is caused by pam_systemd missing from the common-session file.

I added session optional pam_systemd.so to common-session in
r49009 univention-ucc-pam 2.0.0-2.38.201404031144
internal bug while updating to 14.04, no changelog entry

The power down and reboot buttons are now properly displayed and working fine, boit the reboot and the shutdown worked well.
