This requires the name of the DNS domain and not the one (FQDN) of the client.  It confused me at first when I tried to roll out a client.

You're referring to the join dialogue? I don't think the current version is a source of confusion, since the default is already printed in brackets.

"domain name" is the standard way to refer to the DNS domain, what alternate menu would you propose?

I'd just remove "of client", this makes it clear.
