samba/share/netlogon/path: Description is misleading about the default location
Last modified: 2022-11-28 13:17:43 CET
The information text of the UCR variable samba/share/netlogon/path is misleading Discovered in UCS 4.1-4 Errata 396: ---- samba/share/netlogon/path: <empty> This variable allows the configuration of the directory for the Netlogon share. If the variable is unset, /var/lib/samba/netlogon/ is used. Categories: service-samba ---- The template /etc/univention/files/etc/samba/base.conf says: default_netlogon_path = '/var/lib/samba/sysvol/%s/scripts' % configRegistry.get('kerberos/realm', '').lower() If not set, the default actually leads to the following value i.e: /var/lib/samba/sysvol/myucs.example.org/scripts Please fix the description text to i.e. This variable allows the configuration of the directory for the Netlogon share. If the variable is unset, /var/lib/samba/netlogon/<kerberos/realm>/scripts is used. Best regards Mathieu Simon, Adfinis SyGroup

Hi Stefan This issue is still present in 4.3-3 therefore I'd like to renew my request. Regards Mathieu
I ran in the same problem: ucr info samba/share/netlogon/path samba/share/netlogon/path: <empty> This variable allows the configuration of the directory for the Netlogon share. If the variable is unset, /var/lib/samba/netlogon/ is used. Categories: service-samba Adding a new script via windows in the netlogon share of the master, the script shows up in /var/lib/samba/sysvol/schein.ig/scripts/ on the filesystem, but not in /var/lib/samba/netlogon/scripts/ as i would expect, according to the description of the ucr variable. Still in UCS 4.4 an Issue
Reported by customer, adjusting UP because time-consuming investigation was needed.
