Description Sönke Schwardt-Krummrich univentionstaff 2018-09-28 10:05:47 CEST
Request by a customer:
It would be great if the customer is able to define the roles, that shall be part of the CSV file (e.g. teachers+students). Currently the role is hardcoded to "student".

A UCR variable containing a list of roles that shall be listed in the CSV, would IMHO be sufficient.

This has been asked twice, but I have to admit I'm not sure about the use case.

In case this gets asked again, maybe keep the following questions in mind so it is easier for us to decide how to continue with this feature request.

The goal of this module is to give teachers an easy way to get a list of students in a class. For example to plan a school trip or check for attendance.

Together with bug 47878 this sounds like a feature request for a more advanced export module. For example to import the data set into another application. To me these are different use cases.

So my questions would be:
Who needs this? E.g. teachers, administrators, management?
Why is this needed? E.g. for importing the data into another application?
Why is the udm reports feature not an option?

I would like to keep the class lists module simple, so it is easy to use for everyone.

We got another customer request for exporting teacher accounts.
In response to what this function is needed for:

"It is somewhat confusing to use, because you can add teachers to workgroups, but these are then simply not exported, although workgroups can also be exported explicitly in addition to classes. A note on this would not be bad."

They created workgroups with teachers and stumbled upon this probably unexpected behaviour or lack of documentation.
