There could/should be some easy "cheat sheet" with typical scenarios and what services to activate and what are the rough hardware and domain environment requirements for those kind of setups which you could check before starting the installation process and so that you could make up a implementation plan in advance.

The requirements even in a small business setup are probably quite different for a domain controller compared to a virtualization platform.
