Univention Bugzilla – Bug 48496
Policy "app-update-schedule" does not reboot if "reboot after maintenance" is set
Last modified: 2021-05-14 16:37:57 CEST
It is possible to adjust the policy "app-update-schedule" via UMC to "reboot after maintenance" But here is no reboot after the packages have been updated. Not even if the ucr variable update/reboot/required is set to true.
It is working as described in the manual [1], the UMC description is not clear on the behavior. "This option allows you to perform an automatic system restart after release updates either directly or after a specified time period of hours." [1] http://docs.software-univention.de/manual-4.3.html#computers::softwaremanagement::maintenancepolicy_5
Expectation for a 'fix' is unclear. Is this a bug to correct the UMC description, or a feature request to add an additional configuration option to always reboot?
(In reply to Erik Damrose from comment #2) > Expectation for a 'fix' is unclear. Is this a bug to correct the UMC > description, or a feature request to add an additional configuration option > to always reboot? Since kernel updates occur not only during release updates I would prefer a feature request to reboot if a new kernel was installed _and_ the check box "reboot after schedule" was set.
To adjust the UMC description would be nice, too. This should be equal to the manual. Otherwise it is confusing
