Univention Bugzilla – Bug 49122
Error message of Ubuntu Join client mentions incorrect log file location
Last modified: 2022-11-25 09:33:05 CET
Created attachment 9944 [details] Patch for wrong error message The GUI version creates a popup-dialog error message on join failures, which recommends to take a look at the created log file for further failure informations. The popup wrongly claims, that the log is saved in the 'user home directory', while it is saved under the following path: /var/log/univention/domain-join-gui.log This can confuse customers. This Bug applies to versions/branches 18.04 and 18.10. It exists since package version 1.0-13ubuntu1 and got created with commit '731701c7dcb4c9c2f8aa26bb657709a8d3a1b7af' (log location changed). File 'scripts/gui.py:399' All older versions refer to the correct location. The attached patch takes the message from all older versions and replaces the wrong line of 18.04 and 18.10 with it.
fix[gui]: Show correct log file path
