Description Valentin Heidelberger univentionstaff 2020-01-29 15:01:11 CET
The "schools" module allows user to create schools with a school server name consisting only of numbers.
Creating workgroups for such schools is impossible because it fails with

Falsche Syntax. Server: kein gültiger vollqualifizierter Domänenname

The same school name / ou with a school server name that does not consist only of numbers does not have this problem. If there's a technical reason why this mustn't work, the "schools" module shouldn't allow users to create such schools in the first place.

The creation of the computer object for the school server works fine btw.
The problem only becomes apparent when one tries to create a workgroup.

There are btw. also setups where a school server is simply not necessary, so it might be worth to re-consider whether it should be a required field in the first place too.

Also affects school classes and only the creation of the class/workgroup share seems to fail, which fits the error message. The class/workgroup's creation itself works.
