For users in the US and Canada we could setup a UCS repository mirror in North America to reduce network latency and improve download speed.

FYI: Some years ago I setup a partial repository mirror in AWS, which only contains the binary .deb package files and transparently falls back to updates.software-univention.de for all other files (called "routing" in AWS):

It can be used with
  ucr set repository/online/server=http://ucs-updates.s3-website-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/

Currently that one is EU Irland only, but can easily be mirrored to other regions as well.
