Description Arvid Requate univentionstaff 2013-06-10 14:46:43 CEST
UCS Manual still says that the netbios names (hostname + windows_domain) may be up to 15 characters. That shoul be changed to the current UCs limit of 13:

Quotes:
===============================================================================
 Host names must consist of a combination of the following characters: letters a-z in lower case, numerals 0-9, hyphens, and underlines. A host name has to begin with a letter and must not be longer than 15 characters.
===============================================================================

===============================================================================
The name of the Windows domain may have a maximum length of 15 characters; it may consists of letters, numerals and hyphens exclusively. The entry field LDAP base appears solely in the system role of master domain controller.

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #30225 +++

As the maximum length of a valid DC name is limited by Samba4, the UMC school wizard should take this into account and display a comprehensible warning. Additionally, it needs to be made sure that the documentation points the user to this limitation and that the given examples do not provoke this error.
