Description Nico Gulden univentionstaff 2013-06-25 15:04:57 CEST
Currently, all app vendors have set the "NotifyVendor" attribute to True in the meta-data and will receive installation notifications on a daily basis. Setting this attribute to False enables users to install the app without prior registration in the App Center. Furthermore, no notification will be sent to Univention.

This behaviour should be changed, because we need statistical information about every app in the app center, regardless of this attribute. Univention should always receive notifications about installation, update and deinstallation for every app in the App Center. The attribute "NotifyVendor", as the name says, only defines how to proceed with the notification. If I remember right, the descriptions for the user in the popups in the App Center state exactly this behavior.

In the perimeter of this bug, the current implementation should me checked and documented (at this bug), how it is implemented. Furthermore, it should be revised, whether a change is necessary to achieve the described goal. The descriptions should also be checked, if they are still correct and match the actual implementation.

See Bug#33362. The current behaviour is as you requested and I identified this as a bug.

Icinga and AD Takeover have set NotifyVendor=False. They also do not show up in the daily reporting. Maybe the daily reporting only matches for apps with NotifyVendor=True, although we have the data for the other apps, as well. Can this be checked too?
