*** Bug 35533 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** My feeling is, that the idea from that duplicate bug doesn't quite cut the general problem of translating english UCR value elements to customized (e.g. non-english) names. To stay at the example of samba/adminusers: * The patch above is doing the job of initializing the variable value properly during package installation time But the translation of UCR values also needs be updated in the configuration files after the users/default/* and/or groups/default/* variables changed. Since the UCR values are local, we cannot easily run through each hosts UCR values e.g. during AD-Takeover to translate the values. On the other end of the chain, it might not be 100% correct to do this translation in the UCR templates by simply replacing names. Maybe a customer has users/default/administrator="Bart Simpson" and yet created another user "administrator" (with a normal user RID). Currently I think that the Listener module well-known-sid-name-mapping.py is the right place to do this job of UCR value translation, as it runs exactly at the moment where the local UCR settings need adjustment. This issue has been filed against UCS 4.2. UCS 4.2 is out of maintenance and many UCS components have changed in later releases. Thus, this issue is now being closed. If this issue still occurs in newer UCS versions, please use "Clone this bug" or reopen it and update the UCS version. In this case please provide detailed information on how this issue is affecting you. |
