We will not ship a UCS 3.1-2 release; the next UCS release will be UCS 3.2.

As such, this bug is moved to the new target milestone.

And also link from the Updater to the App Center? Btw there are two possibilities to upgrade an application right now: Via App Center and via the dedicated UMC Module in "Installed Apps". Which one should be the endpoint? The first is more convenient and one has an overview, the latter is more app-specific.

I would vote vote the first one (the real App Center module)

The query function is defined in the app center module (somehow belongs to that module and can reuse resources like the package manager) but used in the updater. This way we get the "is app center available?" check for free because "root" gets a 403 if trying to query app center updates.

Downside is that the App Center module is initialised even when only the Updater module is opened. On the other hand: If the link "Open the App Center" is clicked, the backend already has a ready-to-use app center module...

New texts to be applied (localisation accordingly):

"App Center nicht verfügbar"
  ->
"Das App Center ist derzeit nicht erreichbar."
-> Probably need to distinguish between not available for e.g. root and not reachable because of network problems.


"Visit the App Center Module to install the updates."
  ->
"Please visit the App Center Module to install these updates."
