Description Philipp Hahn univentionstaff 2013-03-22 18:10:08 CET
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #19574 +++
Es sollte die Möglichkeit geben das lokale DVD / CDROM Laufwerk einzubinden.

As mentioned in Bug #19804 comment 9, booting from a local /dev/cdrom lo longer seems to work.

Regarding Bug #19574 comments 7,8,16:
Xen seems to be broken and does not even boot from a local CDROM anymore:
 <http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/CD_Rom_Support_in_Xen>
 <http://www.stefanux.de/wiki/doku.php/xen/fehlerbehebung#cdrom-boot-failure>
I'll clone a new bug for this.

Xen-PV works: PyGrub is able to boot from a CDROM.
Xen-HVM does NOT work: it's already broken since UCS 3.1-0. Testes on xen3 on amd64.
Comment 3 Moritz Muehlenhoff univentionstaff 2013-05-31 10:43:56 CEST
We will not ship a UCS 3.1-2 release; the next UCS release will be UCS 3.2.

As such, this bug is moved to the new target milestone.
Comment 4 Philipp Hahn univentionstaff 2017-04-21 16:24:00 CEST
UCS-3.x is OoM.
Xen is OoM.
