Univention Bugzilla – Bug 31177
add "lock"-options to "more"-menu
Last modified: 2013-05-14 08:41:02 CEST
UCS@school 3.1 on UCS 3.1-1 allows only one action ("Beaufsichtigen") for several selected computers. There should also be the possibility to lock/logout/shutdown/reboot/WOL all computers in a room. I'm quite sure this was possible in earlier versions, I think this was removed in connection to usability enhancements.
In Bug #30515 actions for logout, shutdown, reboot and switch on (WOL) have been added. Maybe "lock screen" and "lock input devices" should be added, too.
Is there any reason for not adding all actions?
(In reply to comment #2) > Is there any reason for not adding all actions? The implemented 4 actions are global appliable. The other actions have different behavior which can switch, e.g.: 'disable screen', 'enable screen'. So this would require 4 more buttons which are not visible in the context menu of each grid entry.

I think that is OK, it is the expected behaviour. Selecting all computers and set "lock screen" would mean that all available computers are locked, regardless of their current state. I even wouldn't make a dependency on the current state of all clients in the room and the appearance of "lock" and "unlock" in the global menu; I assume that users would be irritated if an option is sometimes available and sometimes not. I'd vote for adding them all. "lock" is more likely to be used than i.e. "WOL".
On Bug #31335 the "lock input devices" and "lock screen" has been implemented as multiaction. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 31335 ***
