Description Stephan Luft univentionstaff 2014-09-18 15:36:41 CEST
In chapter 15.1 and 15.2 of our current manual (http://docs.univention.de/manual-3.2.html#uvmm:chapter) there is described how a new virtualization server is installed. There is missing how these virtualization are added to UVMM.

The information about the ucr variable which has to be set should be included (ucr set uvmm/managers=<UVMM_HOST_NAME>)
Comment 1 Philipp Hahn univentionstaff 2014-09-18 16:31:35 CEST
FYI:
By default all virtualization hosts can be managed by all UVMMs. This is automatically configured when a new V-host joins the domain.
The UCRV is only needed if a subset of hosts should be managed by a specific UVMM. Otherwise it's not needed to modify that UCRV by hand.

(There's a listener module "/usr/lib/univention-directory-listener/system/uvmmd-nodes.py" modifying that UCRV: when a V hosts is added or removed, its name is added / removed from taht UCRV.)

Both should be added in the manuel:
1. just a sentence that new virtualization servers are added automatically to every UVMM server
2. how a virtualization server can be added to just one distinct UVMM server

UVMM is deprecated and no longer part of UCS-5 - WONT-FIX
