Univention Bugzilla – Bug 38879
UMC-Module: Manage DHCP leases
Last modified: 2020-04-17 11:18:16 CEST
It should be possible to see in UMC which leases have been requested and given. And it should be possible to create computer objects or DHCP entries of these objects.
This feature has been dropped from the UCS 4.1 roadmap.

This was requested from a partner for a customer interested in UCS
Requested here (second question): http://forum.univention.de/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=4640&p=17902
Requested again: http://forum.univention.de/viewtopic.php?t=3102&p=22532#p22532
The Enterprise Customer affected flag is set but neither a Ticket number is referenced nor a Customer ID is set. Please set a Ticket number or a Customer ID. Otherwise the Enterprise Customer affected flag will be reset.
It would be easier to debug such problems in a customer environment. This Ticket#2017020321000054 could be solved much easier/faster.
isc-dhcp from 4.3 will ship ~phahn/src/extern/dhcp/contrib/dhcp-lease-list.pl to parse /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases Maybe "omshell" can be used to query the lease DB (my quick search didn't find anything useful). The dhcpd.leases file is supposed to be fully re-written each 34 #define LEASE_REWRITE_PERIOD 3600 seconds = 1h
wurde auf der CeBIT auf dieses Feature angesprochen, geht um einen neuen Partner, der UCS aktuell für einen Kunden evaluiert
(In reply to Philipp Hahn from comment #8) > isc-dhcp from 4.3 will ship > ~phahn/src/extern/dhcp/contrib/dhcp-lease-list.pl to parse > /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases It's included with isc-dhcp-server_4.3.1-6+deb8u2A~4.2.0.201703161319, but broken due to Bug #44125 (includes patch) Please note that static leases are not tracked in /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases. There is a thing called "RESERVED LEASES" (man 5 dhcpd.conf): <https://lists.isc.org/pipermail/dhcp-users/2009-July/009875.html> > Maybe "omshell" can be used to query the lease DB (my quick search didn't > find anything useful). Please note that this might be complicated further when multiple dhcp servers are used, as each one has a separate lease database.
requested again (see ticketlist)
I also requested this for our environment as it would be really useful (Ticket #2017062721000341)
In case its a duplicate, please ignore (cannot delete/modify any comments) :(

Customer was not aware of /var/lib/dhcp and therefore needed an information how to get the list of current leases. There should be an easier way to see this (UMC!).

Citing another user from the topic in comment #21: "this is something I feature requested several times in the past, but I don’t know, why Univention doesn’t want to enhance DHCP settings. It’s really painful to administrate DHCP clients within the UMC."
