One addition regarding apt mirrors.  They also replicate signatures and should therefore work out of the box.  Only if packages are modified or added to the local mirror the signatures will break.  In order to allow the creation of a local mirror, it would be good to have a short guide that provides the instructions for creating a separate set of keys, regenerating the Packages and Release files and signing them.
