Our guide on how to integrate Ubuntu clients explixitly configures the UCS Master as LDAP server and Kerberos server: https://docs.software-univention.de/domain-4.1.html#ubuntu:sssd

SSSD is also capable of using DNS Service Discovery for e.g. LDAP and Kerberos servers (just as Windows clients), so we probably should use this feature to increase reliability:

This bug hasn't seen any update for several years. I close it.

If you still see a need for it, you can reopen the bug. Please add an argumentation about why it's important to take care of it.
