The "UCS@school scenarios" document suggests a naming schema for server hostnames, amongst other things. There, we do suggest to include the role in the hostname:

" Domänencontroller Master: ucsma-01

  Domänencontroller Backup: ucsba-02, ucsba-03"

This should be improved since we usually recommend to not use the role at least for master and backup, because after a "backup2master" the hostname of the new master will still have "backup" in it.
