The idea is that changes to the mdb components are automated.

"Ein wenig Feedback zum Weitergeben an wen auch immer bei euch: ich bin
alles andere als glücklich über die MDB. Ich verstehe, dass die bestimmt
super viele Vorteile bzgl. Performance und vielleicht auch
Konsistenz/Robustheit hat, aber sie erfordert schon im normalen Betrieb
manuelle Eingriffe der Admins, und die sind immer gefährlich. Wir Admins
haben eh schon genug manuelle Dinge zu tun (z.B. bei PostgreSQL-Upgrades
oder, noch schlimmer, bei ablaufenden SSL-Zertifikaten), und
Nicht-Linux-Experten sind schon damit heillos überfordert. Die sind dann
mit so einer MDB-Wartung noch heilloser überfordert.

Ich würde mich sehr freuen, wenn wieder mehr Fokus darauf gelegt würde,
dass solche umfassenden und gefährlichen Arbeiten vermieden und
automatisiert werden.

Without more information on what those "ominous maintenance tasks" are nothing will happen here as the request is too unspecific otherwise. Not even a ticker number for reference.
