Bug Report:
Quotation Mark and Syntax Issues Impacting Kopano Application Domain Join

Product: Univention App Center
UCS Version: 5.0-4 errata783

Description:
Two customers have reported issues during the installation of the Kopano application on their respective UCS servers. The problems pertain to the domain join process (Join Script 70kopano4ucs-udm) and have caused critical disruptions to the system's functionality.

Steps to Reproduce:

Set up a new UCS test server.
Install the Kopano application.
Observe the error during the domain join process.
Expected Behavior:
The Kopano application should successfully join the domain without any errors.

Observed Behavior:
The domain join process fails with error messages.

Error Message (Customer 1):

Object exists: cn=kopano-group-hidden,cn=kopano,cn=custom attributes,cn=univention,dc=tmxigb,dc=intranet
Object exists: cn=kopano-group-sendas,cn=kopano,cn=custom attributes,cn=univention,dc=tmxigb,dc=intranet

Error Message (Customer 2 - Initial Issue):

Error Message (Customer 2 - second Issue):

/usr/lib/univention-install/70kopano4ucs-udm.inst: 203: /usr/lib/univention-install/70kopano4ucs-udm.inst: Syntax error: "(" unexpected
EXITCODE=2

Resolution Efforts:
The second customer, who encountered both issues, managed to resolve the problems by adjusting incorrectly placed quotation marks in the script code. This correction effectively resolved both the initial issue related to quotation marks and the subsequent issue related to the LDAP filter rule.

Impact:
The issues faced by the customers caused significant disruptions to the functionality of their system. Business operations were severely hampered due to the inability to complete the domain join process. Thanks to the customer2 efforts in resolving the issues, the application is now functioning as expected.

Recommendation to Development:
Considering the critical impact on system operations, it is advisable for the development team to review the script code and ensure the correct placement of quotation marks to prevent similar issues in future installations of the Kopano application.

Should the development team require more information or logs, please do not hesitate to read the both linked Tickets with attached Logs.

While the second customer has resolved the issues, it is important to acknowledge the problem and make necessary improvements to avoid recurrence. the first customer still dealing with the problem and need a fix for that.
