Description ucs 2019-10-28 10:17:37 CET
https://help.univention.com/t/shares-create-on-dc-don-t-not-configure-shares-on-member-server/13355/11

never erased a shared dir (checkbox marked or not)
a created directory on a member server is never erased during the deletion process on the DC, even though it is empty and during the deletion the checkbox "delete related objects" was selected.

When removing a share the directories and files of the share are not removed. This is intentionaly behavior.
The problem here is a usability problem because every removal of a UDM objects displays the checkbox to remove related objects. The directories and files are not a related object.
Comment 2 ucs 2019-10-28 12:39:37 CET
This leads to user irritation.
In addition, the system consistency is no longer guaranteed:
if a new directory could created via the UDM, it must be able to erase it via the UDM too.

The checkbox is called "remove referring objects" i.e. meant are LDAP objects. The actual files are no LDAP objects.
It would be conceptually wrong to remove files via UDM. That must be done via a listener module on the host of the share.

The usability problem here is that the checkbox should not be displayed at all as the shares/share module has no referring objects.
I mark it therefore as duplicate of Bug #25019.
