"OpenID" scheint ein potentieller Standard für eine generische Authentifikation im Internet zu sein. Man kann sich bei einem (beliebigen) OpenID-"Provider" registrieren, und dann mit den dort hinterlegten Nutzerdaten auch andere Web-Dienste anderer Anbieter verwenden. Dort gibt man nur die URL des Providers für die Registrierung an, das Passwort wird vom Provider verifiziert.

OpenID wird neben diverser Blog-Software u.a. von Google, Microsoft und Yahoo unterstützt (wobei mir unklar ist ob als Provider oder Client).

Es gibt mit openid-ldap ein Projekt, dass einen OpenID-Provider mit LDAP-Backend implementiert:

This issue has been filed against the UCS version "unstable" which does not really exist. Please change the version value.
