VirtualBox seems to crash if GRUB's chain loading is used (booting from CD;
selecting "boot from first harddrive"; next GRUB of the first harddrive
shows up; selecting local UCS kernel; kernel starts to boot up; crash).

I was able to circumvent the crash of the hypervisor by pressing F12 for
selecting the boot device and booting straight from first harddrive, or by
removing the UCS3 installation ISO image from virtual DVD drive.
As operating system "Debian 64bit" has been selected.

The hypervisor crashes when the kernel is in his bootup phase (before initramfs gets mounted and executed).

Reproducible on Ubuntu 11.04 with Virtualbox OSE 4.0.4

Das kann auch mit VirtualBox 4.1.12 aus Ubuntu 12.04 noch reproduziert werden. Ich habe vorerst einen Abschnitt in die UCS 3.1 Release Notes aufgenommen und werden parallel einen Upstream-Bug anlegen.

Mit VirtualBox 4.2.0 unter Windows 7 funktioniert es.

Mit 4.1.8 aus Ubuntu 12.10beta2 funktioniert es nicht, mit den 4.2.0-DEB-Paketen von Oracle funktioniert es jedoch.

Ich füge einen Hinweis in die Release Notes ein, der die Workarounds für VBox 4.0 und 4.1 beschreibt (Ubuntu 12.10 und Debian Wheezy werden noch Vbox 4.1.8 enthalten)

OK: Da der Bug nicht nur bei der Installation auftritt wurde der Text noch ein wenig überarbeitet (svn15256). Ansonsten aber OK.
