Ein parted-Bug, der auch Ubuntu betrifft führt dazu, dass die einige Hardwaresysteme nach der Bearbeitung von Festplattenpartitionen nicht mehr booten:

Das betrifft auch alle Ubuntu-Releases. Das sollte in der 12.04-Version gefixt werden.

In der initramfs wird jetzt set-bootable-flag-on-protective-mbr aufgerufen, das das Flag korrekt in der Protective MBR setzt.

Nach der Installation eines Systems muss der "protective MBR" gesetzt sein.
Das erkennt man daran, dass bei fdisk -l für die Partition unter "boot." ein
* angezeigt wird.
